Cookie Consent Banner

A fully customisable, accessible consent banner that loads in under 50ms. Multiple layouts, themes, languages, and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.

The consent banner is the core of any CMP. Conzent's banner is built for speed, accessibility, and real compliance — not dark patterns.

Layouts

Choose from three banner types, each with multiple position options:

  • Box — compact overlay anchored to any corner of the screen
  • Banner — full-width strip at the top or bottom of the page
  • Popup — centred modal with backdrop overlay

Every layout is responsive and works across desktop, tablet, and mobile. You can preview each layout in the dashboard before publishing.

Customisation

Every visual element is configurable:

  • Colours — set individual colours for background, text, buttons, links, and borders. Supports both light and dark themes with independent colour sets
  • Content — edit every string: title, description, accept button, reject button, customise button, close button, cookie policy link, and "powered by" branding
  • Buttons — show or hide the reject button, customise button, and close icon. Control button order and style
  • Branding — optionally display "Powered by Conzent" or remove it entirely on paid plans

Multi-Language

Manage banner content in any language directly from the dashboard. Each language has its own set of translatable strings — titles, descriptions, button labels, cookie category names, and cookie descriptions. Auto-translation is available for 40+ languages as a starting point.

Accessibility

The banner is built to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards:

  • Keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators
  • Correct ARIA roles and labels
  • Sufficient colour contrast ratios
  • Screen reader compatible

Performance

The consent script loads in under 50ms and weighs less than 15KB gzipped. It does not block page rendering, does not add layout shift, and does not load third-party resources until consent is granted.

Preference Centre

Visitors who click "Customise" see a granular preference centre listing every cookie category with descriptions. They can toggle individual categories on or off before saving their choices. The preference centre supports two modes: inline (expands within the banner) and modal (opens as a separate overlay).

A small floating button allows visitors to change their consent at any time. You control the button's position, label, and visibility. This meets GDPR's requirement that withdrawing consent must be as easy as giving it.
