WordPress Cookie Consent Plugin

Add Conzent to your WordPress site in minutes. Official plugin with automatic script injection, shortcodes, and cookie list embedding.

The Conzent WordPress plugin makes it easy to add consent management to any WordPress site without editing theme files.

Installation

Install the plugin from the WordPress admin dashboard:

  1. Go to Plugins > Add New
  2. Search for Conzent
  3. Click Install and then Activate
  4. Navigate to Settings > Conzent
  5. Enter your site key (found in the Conzent dashboard)
  6. Save

The consent script is automatically injected into every page.

Features

  • Automatic script injection — the consent script loads in the <head> of every page, before any other scripts
  • Cookie list shortcode — use [conzent-cookie-list] to embed a live cookie list on any page or post
  • Cookie policy shortcode — use [conzent-cookie-policy] to embed your generated cookie policy
  • Google Tag Manager compatibility — the plugin ensures consent state is set before GTM fires
  • Multisite support — works with WordPress multisite installations, with per-site configuration

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.8 or later
  • PHP 7.4 or later

Self-Hosted (OCI)

If you run OCI on your own server, the plugin works the same way. In the plugin settings, set the Script URL to your OCI instance instead of the default CDN.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free WordPress cookie consent plugin from Conzent?

Yes — install the plugin free, connect it to a free self-hosted OCI instance or a free trial on the managed cloud, and it's fully functional, including IAB TCF v2.4 and Google Consent Mode v2.

Does the plugin work with WooCommerce?

Yes, the plugin works on any WordPress site including WooCommerce stores — the consent script and shortcodes behave the same way regardless of which plugins you run alongside it.

Does it slow down my WordPress site?

No — the script is under 15KB gzipped, loads asynchronously, and doesn't block page rendering.

Can I use it with Google Tag Manager?

Yes, the plugin sets consent state before GTM fires, and Conzent includes a dedicated GTM wizard that creates consent-aware tags automatically.
