Set up Google with Conzent

Everything Google in one place: banner installation, Consent Mode v2, Google Tag Manager, verification, and Google Tag Gateway.

Step 4: Verify your setup

Confirm the consent default is set before any Google tag fires, and keep an eye on Google's own diagnostics.

Late consent signal? If Tag Assistant shows a tag fired before the consent default was set, or Tag Diagnostics reports "Consent mode installation out of order", your Google tag is starting before Conzent. Load Conzent first in your page's <head>, or use Advanced mode, which keeps every signal denied by default regardless of load order. Full guide: late consent signals and Google Tag Gateway.
Using Google Tag Gateway (GTG)? With the one-click CDN setup (for example Cloudflare), Google's tag is deployed by your CDN and you no longer control the script load order, so it can fire before Conzent sets the consent defaults. Check your enrollment and the recommended configurations in the Google Tag Gateway guide.
