Conzent vs Clickio

Clickio is built around publisher monetisation, and parts of its compliance coverage sit on higher plans. Conzent puts every compliance feature on every plan, so the tier you pick is about how many sites you run, not which laws you are covered for.

✓ IAB TCF v2.4 on every plan ✓ No feature tiers ✓ Free self-hosting via OCI

Clickio, built for ad-funded publishers

Clickio is a capable CMP, and it does two things genuinely well. Google Consent Mode v2 is enabled by default on new sites and available on every plan, including the free one — a lot of vendors hold that back. And it ships a built-in paywall, so a publisher can offer readers a paid alternative to consenting. If you run an ad-funded site and that model interests you, Clickio is a sensible shortlist entry.

Two things are worth checking before you sign. First, the published numbers do not agree with each other. Clickio's main pricing page describes the free plan as one site and 500 monthly pageviews; its own plan-comparison page describes the free plan as up to three sites and 50,000 monthly pageviews. The paid amounts differ between the two pages too. Second, not everything you might need is on every plan: US GPP National support is listed for Pro, Pro+ and Enterprise only, and the paywall carries a 5% + £0.25 fee on each transaction.

Clickio figures are taken from its public pricing and plan-comparison pages and its own documentation, current in 2026. Pricing changes, and the published numbers are not consistent between pages — confirm them with Clickio before you switch. See Conzent's current plans.

Switching from Clickio? Here's what to expect

Moving CMPs follows the same shape whichever vendor you leave: install the new script alongside the old one for a short test window, run a fresh scan to rebuild your cookie categories, configure and preview the banner, then switch the live script and remove the old one. Historical consent records stay with the vendor that collected them and don't transfer — that's normal for any CMP migration rather than anything specific to Clickio, so plan to start your consent log fresh. If you are using Clickio's paywall, that part is a payments integration as well as a consent one, so give yourself extra time to unwind it.

Why teams switch from Clickio to Conzent

Numbers that stay the same on every page

A price is only useful if you can quote it back. Conzent publishes one set of tiers, priced by the number of sites you run, and the price per site falls as you add more. Nothing about your traffic changes it.

Compliance features aren't a tier

IAB TCF v2.4, Consent Mode v2 in both Basic and Advanced, GDPR, CCPA and 25+ regional laws are on every Conzent plan. You never find that a region you have started selling into sits one price band above you.

An exit that doesn't cost anything

Conzent's core is open source under Apache 2.0. If the commercial relationship ever stops working for you, you can run the same platform on your own server for free instead of starting a vendor search.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Clickio cost?

Its plan comparison lists Free, Pro at £10 per site per month and Pro+ at £35 per site per month, with Enterprise by quote. Its main pricing page shows different amounts for the same plans, so ask Clickio to confirm your figure in writing before you budget from either.

Does Clickio have a free plan, and what are the limits?

Yes, but the published limit depends on which page you read. The main pricing page describes one site and 500 monthly pageviews; the plan-comparison page describes up to three sites and 50,000 monthly pageviews. Conzent's self-hosted edition is free with no site or pageview limit at all.

Which TCF version does Clickio support?

Clickio states it is IAB certified at TCF v2.2, and it supports Google Consent Mode v2 on every plan, enabled by default for new sites. Conzent runs IAB TCF v2.4 and Consent Mode v2 in both Basic and Advanced on every plan, including self-hosted.

Can I self-host Clickio, and what's the best alternative?

No self-hosted or open-source edition of Clickio is published — it is a hosted product. If you want the option of running your own instance, Conzent's core is Apache 2.0 licensed, installs on your own server with unlimited sites and pageviews, and costs nothing to run that way.

One plan, all the compliance.
