Consentik is a Shopify app, and a good one
Consentik does the Shopify job properly. Its free plan is unusually generous on paper — banner, preferences popup, geolocation, cookie scanning and Google Consent Mode v2 at $0, with unlimited impressions. Paid tiers add the things a growing store actually hits: script blocking, consent logs, data request handling and a GPC signal on Plus; Microsoft UET Consent Mode, scheduled scans, more languages and a checkout banner on Advanced. It also reaches past Shopify — its own site lists Wix, SHOPLINE, WordPress and a generic embed script — so it is not strictly a one-platform product. For a merchant whose life happens inside Shopify, this is a sensible default and there is no reason to move.
So who is this page for? The merchant with more than a storefront. Once you're also running a marketing site, a content blog on its own domain, or a second brand, two things about the app model start to chafe. Compliance features arrive by tier rather than by default: IAB TCF sits on the top Unlimited plan, not the ones below it. And the published prices don't agree with themselves — Consentik's Shopify pricing shows Plus at $7.99, Advanced at $19.99 and Unlimited at $39.99 a month, while another of its own pricing pages and several third-party summaries show $6.99, $11.99 and $20.99 for the same tier names. Check what your checkout actually says. Conzent takes the other approach: per-site pricing, from a few euros per site per month, getting cheaper per site as you add them, with the compliance features in the base.
Conzent vs Consentik at a glance

Should you switch? Probably not — unless Shopify isn't the whole picture
We'd rather be useful than pushy about this. If your Shopify store is the only web property you own, Consentik is closer to your problem than we are, and swapping a native app for a script tag would be a step backwards. Conzent has no Shopify integration and we're not going to pretend otherwise.
The case for looking at Conzent starts when the storefront stops being everything. A brand site on WordPress, a campaign page, a content blog on its own domain, a second label you're launching — each of those needs its own banner, and covering them one app install at a time gets awkward and uneven. Some teams run both: Consentik on the Shopify store, Conzent across the rest of the estate, which at least gives the non-store sites one place to manage categories and one consistent banner. Others move everything except the storefront. Either is a reasonable answer, and both are cheaper to test than they sound, since Conzent's self-hosted edition costs nothing.
Why multi-site merchants look at Conzent
Pricing built for a portfolio
App pricing assumes one store. Conzent assumes several sites and gets cheaper per site as you add them, so the blog, the campaign page and the second brand don't each land as a separate full-price subscription.
TCF isn't the top tier
With Consentik, IAB TCF arrives on the Unlimited plan. Conzent includes IAB TCF v2.4 and Google Consent Mode v2, Basic and Advanced, on every plan including the free self-hosted one. Consent Mode is a technical signal to your Google tags rather than legal cover, but if your ad partners need TCF, you shouldn't have to buy the biggest plan to get it.
An exit that doesn't cost anything
Conzent's core is open source under Apache 2.0. If the commercial relationship ever stops working for you, you can run the same platform on your own server for free instead of starting a vendor search.
Frequently asked questions
Does Conzent work with Shopify?
No. Conzent has native integrations for WordPress, Wix, Joomla, Drupal, TYPO3 and Umbraco, plus a universal script tag, but there is no Shopify integration. If your Shopify storefront is the site you need covered, Consentik or another Shopify-native app is the better fit.
How much does Consentik cost?
Its Shopify pricing shows a free plan at $0, Plus at $7.99 a month, Advanced at $19.99 and Unlimited at $39.99, with annual options and a 7-day trial on paid plans. Another Consentik pricing page and several third-party summaries list $6.99, $11.99 and $20.99 for the same tiers, so check the amount at checkout before you budget.
Which IAB TCF version does Consentik support?
It lists IAB TCF v2.3, available on the top Unlimited tier, although one of its pages still refers to v2.2 certification. Conzent runs IAB TCF v2.4 on every plan, including the free self-hosted edition.
Can I use both Consentik and Conzent?
Yes, and for some merchants that's the sensible answer: the Shopify-native app on the storefront, Conzent across the marketing site, blog and any other brands. It keeps the storefront on a tool built for it while giving the rest of your sites one place to manage cookie categories and one consistent banner.
